The MAC will be offering Freestyle sessions for figure skaters. These sessions are for skaters who are Freestyle 1 level or above. These sessions will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:30pm to 4:40 pm and 4:30 to 5:30pm. Wednesday freestyles are available from 3:00 to 4:00 and 4:00 to 5:00. Skaters will need to purchase a monthly ice membership at the rink. A skater will not be allowed to take the ice unless this membership is current.
Guidelines for skating on the freestyle session.
All skaters will have their temperature checked upon entering the rink. If their temperature is above normal the skater will not be allowed to skate.
All coaches must wear a mask. Coaches will find a designated area at the boards where they must stand to teach their lessons. Coaches must remain in the area and may not skate alongside any student.
Coach/Skater contact must be limited. Coaches should not help the student up unless the student is unable to get up. Coaches should use verbal cues when instructing students rather than physical contact.
All Warmups prior to taking the ice should be done outside the building, weather permitting.
Skaters/coaches are not to gather on the ice surface or lobby. No locker rooms will be available at this time. Please adhere to social distancing when putting on skates and when utilizing the ice.
Skaters are required to wear a mask while on the ice.
Bring your own tissues and dispose of used tissues in the trash can immediately after use.
These freestyle sessions are considered open freestyles meaning all levels of figure skating are allowed at this time. However, anyone under the Freestyle 1 level will need to have their coach at the freestyle as well.
