The MAC is happy to be the home of Hell-for-Leather Throwing (H4L), Rio Rancho’s only baseball and softball arm care program.

H4L is headed by former Indiana, Arizona State and UNM pitching coach, Brandon Higelin.

Some of coach Higelin’s accomplishments include developing:

  • 24 pitchers selected in the MLB draft

  • 6 pitchers selected in the top 10 rounds

  • 3 MLB pitchers

  • 2 All-Americans

  • 3 Conference Pitchers of the Year

  • Pitchers selected to Big 10, PAC-12, and MWC All-Conference teams

Coach Higelin has used his years of collegiate and professional experience to help develop a throwing program that incorporates the latest in modern technology and metrics with tried-and-true practices that have been used at the professional level for years.

At Hell-for-Leather Throwing players can expect:

  • Driveline inspired strengthening and recovery exercises

    • We will teach you how to build arm strength and maintain arm health.

  • Pre and post throwing routines

    • What do you need to do to be ready to perform and what do you need to do to take care of yourself? We will give you the answer.

  • Position specific mechanics

    • Pitching is not the only position where mechanics impact velocity.  Infielders, outfielders, and catchers need to learn how to best utilize their arm at their position.

  • Rapsodo assessments

    • It is important for players to see their progress in real time. We will offer assessments utilizing Rapsodo techniology.

  • Detailed long-toss programs

    • A throwing program is not a throwing program if you are not throwing, A LOT! You will have a detailed throwing program updated weekly.

  • Video analysis

    • Each player will have the opportunity to receive expert video analysis.

  • Facility Access

    • All participants will have unlimited access to our development area located at the MAC.

  • Interactive player profiles
